Audiencia Pública en el Congreso. Políticas de discapacidad retroceden en Bogotá
Bogotá, junio 7 de 2017
Mañana jueves 8 de junio se realizará la audiencia pública Derechos de personas con discapacidad y sus cuidadores/as, convocada por los representantes a la Cámara Ángela María Robledo y Alirio Uribe Muñoz, en coordinación con la Federación Nacional de Cuidadoras, con el objetivo de visibilizar el retroceso que han tenido frente a sus derechos y las rutas posibles para afrontar la problemática.
La audiencia que se realizará en el Salón Boyacá del Capitolio Nacional a partir de las 2:00 p.m., busca analizar las dificultades de acceso al derecho a la salud y la atención de personas con discapacidad, con especial énfasis en personas con discapacidades múltiples que les impiden ser independientes en actividades cotidianas como comer, bañarse, desplazarse y la situación de sus cuidadoras, en su mayoría mujeres – madres, que debido a la alta dependencia de estas personas deben atender su cuidado con dedicación exclusiva, lo que les dificultad trabajar o realizar otras actividades.
Se analizarán, especialmente, los retrocesos de las políticas dirigidas a esta población durante la administración Peñalosa y la necesidad de construir y fortalecer dichas políticas públicas para que sean garantistas de los derechos y las necesidades de esta población en el marco de lo que establece la Convención Internacional, ratificada por Colombia en 2009 relativa a los Derechos de la Población con Discapacidad.
Se espera la asistencia del Ministro de Protección Social, Alejandro Gaviria; de la Ministra del Trabajo, Griselda Janeth Restrepo; del Presidente del Consejo Nacional de Discapacidad, Juan Pablo Salazar; del Superintendente Delegado de Protección al Usuario, Adolfo Varela, y el Director de Colpensiones Mauricio Oliveira, entre otros, quienes fueron convocados por los organizadores.
La audiencia constará de dos partes, la primera en la que se analizará el estado de los derechos y las políticas públicas para la población en condición de capacidad y la segunda, sobre la ruta de atención para los cuidadores y cuidadoras a nivel nacional y en el distrito capital.
