Se conmemoran 60 años del voto de las mujeres en Colombia.
CASA DE LA MUJER, VIVA LA CIUDADANIA Y LA REPRESENTANTE ANGELA ROBLEDO CONMEMORAN 60 AÑOS DEL VOTO DE LAS MUJERES EN COLOMBIA
En el marco de los 35 años de la Casa de la Mujer se llevará a cabo el Foro Internacional “60 años del Voto de las Mujeres en Colombia”, el próximo 1 de diciembre en el salón Luis Guillermo Vélez del Congreso de la República.
El evento, en el que participarán más de 300 mujeres de todas las regiones del país, es organizado por la Casa de la Mujer, Viva la Ciudadanía y la representante Ángela María Robledo.
Se propone hacer un homenaje a las primeras mujeres colombianas sufragistas que, con esfuerzo y pasión lograron, sacar adelante vindicaciones tan importantes como el derecho de la mujer a la participación política, a la educación y al trabajo.
“Nuestra conmemoración es una acción contra el olvido y el pacto silencioso que ha mantenido invisibilizado el lugar, las voces y las historias de las mujeres. Es la forma de mostrar de otra manera a la mujer como alguien que elige y es elegida, incide y decide y sobre todo participa del acontecer político nacional”, aseguró Olga Amparo Sánchez, directora de la Corporación Casa de la Mujer.
Agregó que “el camino para que las mujeres puedan ser la mitad en el poder ha sido largo y difícil y seguramente se requerirá de otros 100 años para seguir avanzando en romper los techos de cristal.
Al evento han sido invitadas María Teresa Arizabaleta, sufragista colombiana; Luty Montoya, Presidenta del Consejo Nacional de Mujeres, Angélica Bernal, politóloga colombiana profesora de la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano y Ángela Robledo, representante a la Cámara.
En el grupo de conferencistas internacionales estarán Indira Huilca, Conferencista peruana y Rosa Cobo, feminista académica española.
El derecho al voto
En 1954 la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente, a través del Acto Legislativo número 3 del 25 de agosto reconoció el derecho de las mujeres a elegir y ser elegidas.
Las mujeres lograron ser ceduladas y se decidió que su número de identificación fuera superior a 20 millones. El primer documento, expedido bajo el número 20.000.001 le fue asignado a doña Carola Correa, esposa de Rojas Pinilla, y el número siguiente se le entregó a su hija, María Eugenia Rojas.
El 10 de mayo de 1957 se dio el golpe de Estado al General Rojas Pinilla y el Partido Liberal y Conservador pactaron el llamado Frente Nacional, que significaba la alternancia de la Presidencia de la República y el reparto paritario de los cargos públicos. Dicha decisión debía ser refrendada mediante el llamado “´plebiscito” el cual fue convocado para el 1 de diciembre de 1957 y se constituyó en el primer acto mediante el cual las mujeres pudieron ejercer su derecho a elegir y ser elegidas.
No mucho se ha avanzado en 60 años en materia de paridad para las mujeres; para el período electoral 2014-2018 las mujeres representaron el 52% de la fuerza electoral pero solo 21,2% alcanzaron a ser elegidas para el Congreso de la Republica. El 15,6% como gobernadoras y el 17% en las Asambleas Departamentales. En las Alcaldías el 12.2% y un 17.9% en los Concejos Municipales.
Exposición derecho y paridad
En el marco del Foro Internacional se desarrollará de manera alterna la exposición fotográfica “Entre el Derecho y la paridad: 60 años del voto de las mujeres en Colombia”.
La exposición es un reconocimiento a las sufragistas que pretende no solo la transmisión intelectual de sus vindicaciones, sino también emocional, de nuestro pasado colectivo. Consideramos éste un trabajo que nos brinda la posibilidad de generar reconocimiento e identificar mujeres que nos han legado derechos fundamentales, contribuyendo al ejercicio de la ciudadanía.
Las fotografías seleccionadas para la exposición no tienen la pretensión de ser la reconstrucción de la memoria histórica de las luchas sufragistas. Muy por el contrario, deben verse como un caleidoscopio que expande su luz y sus figuras para retar a la imaginación. La exposición es una pincelada en el amplio y complejo espectro de la realidad de las mujeres colombianas en sus vindicaciones por la participación y representación.
La exposición estará en el hall principal del Edificio Nuevo del Congreso y la foto galería en la Plaza de Bolívar.
